5 ways this introvert would rather spend Friday nights
Thank god it’s Friday — am I right? Whether you’re an introvert that’s spent a long week working in the office, hospital, classroom, rehearsal room, or [name your location], we all can appreciate the anticipated Friday night recharge.
But, for introverts that doesn’t always mean hiding away in our homes with a good book (sometimes it does though). That’s a misconception. Many introverts are social. They’re out and about. It’s a matter of how they spend their nights on the town that often differentiates them from extroverts.
Here are 5 ways I’d be up to spend my Friday nights:
Enjoying wine and good company at the neighborhood spot
…The restaurant of choice just won’t be blasting music so loud I can’t hear my friends’ latest life updates
Taking off in an airplane bringing me to visit friends of family in a faraway state (over-sized sweatshirt and yoga pants optional)
…Because sometimes you need to be around the people who make you feel most at home
Eating pizza and binging GoT with my very tired — but very extroverted — boyfriend
…We don’t know what to do with ourselves now that we wrapped Season 7
Cooking Italian food for my roomie and I while we listen to Fleetwood Mac
…Probably eating so much cheese in the process that I won’t finish dinner
Laughing my ass off at the latest Second City Show with my best friends
…a table to ourselves, quality drinks and funny ladies onstage — yes please!
You may be surprised that all of these activities involve other people. Don’t be! For me, it’s about the depth of relationships and interactions. I want to spend my time with the people I love most doing the things that make me happy in places I feel comfortable.
